About us

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes engages coaches and athletes to grow in their faith and sport.

Get In Touch

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is touching millions of lives…one heart at a time. Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ. FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ.

FCA Vision
To see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.

FCA Mission
To lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.

The FCA Values

Integrity
We will demonstrate Christ-like wholeness, privately, and publicly. (Proverbs 11:3)

Serving
We will model Jesus’ example of serving. (John 13:1-17)

Teamwork
We will express our unity in Christ in all our relationships. (Philippians 2:1-4)

Excellence
We will honor and glorify God in all we do. (Colossians 3:23-24)

STRATEGY

To and Through the Coach

We pursue our vision and mission through the strategy of to and through the coach. We seek ministry first to coaches hearts, marriages and families.   Then, when ready, we minister through coaches to their fellow coaches, teams and athlete leaders.

Billy Graham said, “A coach will impact more people in one year than the average person will in an entire lifetime.” With the influence of a coach, FCA recognizes the most strategic way to reach more athletes is to first reach the coach.

METHODS

As FCA matures, we seek to make disciples through our methods of engaging, equipping and empowering coaches and athletes to know and grow in Christ and lead others to do the same.

Engage

(1 Thessalonians 2:8)

We engage relationally by connecting with individuals and through events in many different environments by building genuine trust, sharing our lives and sharing the gospel. We strive to connect with coaches and athletes where they are on their spiritual journey.

Equip

(Ephesians 4:12)

After cultivating relationships and once coaches and athletes come to faith in Christ, we want to equip them with Christ-centered training, events, resources and on-going support in what it means to be a follower of Christ, growing in God’s Word and applying it to life.

Empower

(2 Timothy 2:2)

Once equipped, we empower faithful leaders who desire to use their time, talents and treasures to help other coaches and athletes experience the gospel, grow in their faith and share Him with others. We desire to develop disciples who make disciples, assisting them so that they can in turn engage, equip and empower others to know and grow in Christ and lead others to do the same.

Rapid City Rep/Native American Ministries

As the Field Representative for Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) South Dakota, I’ve been blessed with the challenge of bringing FCA’s mission and values of integrity, service, teamwork and excellence onto the 9 Indian reservations within South Dakota. With most of the work happening on my home Reservation in Pine Ridge, SD FCA has allowed me to weekly with kids both in high school and at the Middle School levels through individual basketball workouts, summer baseball camps, youth huddle groups and so much more. My mission is made possible by your financial support and faithful prayer.

Camps offer comprehensive athletic, spiritual and leadership training, it’s a time to experience inspiration and perspiration. During youth huddles, devotions are shared, fellowship has taken place, and life’s challenges in sports have been addressed. Camps and huddles allow youth a time to escape from the daily oppression observed on reservations and an opportunity to receive a message of hope, inspiration as well as receive specific prayer.

A new specific sport ministry vision in the near future will allow a partnership with a successful AAU program in the State that will help kids on and off the reservation receive scholarships to participate in a Summer AAU basketball program but will be coupled with a specific team devotional times during practices and travel tournaments. With money needed to be raised for this work, will you work together with our youth and be part of our victory? Thank you for your time and consideration to bring hope to the youth across the Pine Ridge Indian reservation and reservations across the state, as well as youth in the Rapid City Area
